Return & Refund Policy
TAFIMADE is a boutique workshop specializing in handcrafted furniture and audio platforms made from premium solid wood. We combine high-end acoustic engineering with timeless interior design to create pieces that elevate both your listening experience and your home.
RETURNS
- Domestic Orders: Returns are accepted within 30 days of delivery for eligible items.
- International Orders: All sales are final.
- Return Process: Contact us through hello@tafimade.com to obtain return procedures and a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).
- Original Packaging:
- The original box and packaging materials are part of the product and must be kept in the received condition during the return window.
- If you select white glove delivery (if available), ask the assembly team to leave the box and packaging materials if you plan to return your order.
- Shipping Requirements:
- All returns must be in their brand-new and unused condition in the original box with the original packaging materials.
- Return Shipment Costs: The buyer is responsible for return shipping costs and arrangements.
- Refund Policy:
- Refunds are issued after the item passes a detailed inspection at our warehouse.
- Refund amount equals the product price minus a 20% restocking fee.
- If a shipment is returned to us by the carrier due to shipping rerouting or delivery refusal by the buyer, a 40% restocking fee will apply. This fee covers the original and return shipping costs, as well as warehouse restocking, repacking, and other handling expenses.
- Additional delivery service fees (if applied) are non-refundable.
- Return Condition: Items must be returned in brand-new, unused condition. Products that show any signs of use are not eligible for a refund. Once a product has been assembled and used, it is no longer eligible for return or replacement under any circumstances.
- Exceptions: No replacements or returns are available for items that fall under the conditions listed in the Exceptions section.
- No Exchanges: We do not offer exchanges. Customers wishing to receive a different item or variation must place a new order separately.
- Buyer Responsibility:
- The buyer is responsible for any loss or damage to the item before it is received at our warehouse.
- Items damaged during return shipping are not eligible for a refund.
- Inspection Timeline: Returns will be inspected within 10 business days after being received.
DAMAGED & DEFECTIVE ITEMS
- Inspection upon delivery: Inspect all parts of your order carefully before assembly.
- Do not open the hardware bag or assemble the product if any damage or defect is noticed.
- Reporting Damage: Notify us within 7 days of delivery by emailing info@mossdesign.us with:
- Detailed description of the damage or defect.
- Supporting photos of the item, original box, and packaging materials.
- Assembled Items: Assembled items are the buyer’s responsibility and are not eligible for return or replacement.
- White Glove Delivery: Inspect items carefully before signing the proof of delivery.
- Return Packaging: Damaged or defective items must be securely shipped back in the original box and packaging materials.
- Replacement Policy: Damaged or defective items will be replaced at no cost to the buyer. Refunds are not offered for these cases.
- If replacement parts are unavailable for over a month, store credit will be issued.
EXCEPTIONS
At Moss Design, we take pride in crafting high-quality furniture; however, some specific natural wood characteristics are exceptions to our return and replacement policies.
These are outlined below:
Natural Characteristics of Wood:
- Minor Imperfections and Cracks: Small hairline cracks, minor imperfections, and finish variations are natural and expected with hardwood furniture.
- Temperature and Humidity Effects: Shrinkage, expansion, cracks and deformation on wood products may occur over time due to environmental changes.
- Unique Wood Patterns: Each piece or part of wood furniture has distinctive grain patterns, textures, and knots, which are part of its natural beauty and uniqueness.
- Batch Variations: Differences in wood tone, grain direction, and finish may occur between production batches.
Aging and Environmental Exposure:
- Color Changes: Hardwood furniture may change color naturally over time due to light exposure and aging.
- Sunlight Effects: Prolonged exposure to sunlight or daylight may cause discoloration or fading. Objects placed on furniture should be moved and rotated regularly.
- Heat: We use highly durable hardwood finishes, but hot objects should not be placed directly on the surface. To prevent damage, avoid placing hardwood furniture near heat sources such as fireplaces, radiators, or heating vents.
Minor Variations in Dimensions:
- Dimensional Tolerances: Fractional differences in dimensions are expected due to the natural characteristics of wood and manufacturing processes.
- Solid wood naturally expands and contracts with changes in humidity. Extendable tables made from solid wood may require small adjustments after transportation or seasonal shifts. Typically, one adjustment within the first year is sufficient; in rare cases of extreme humidity variations, another may be needed within five years.
Less Visible Areas:
- Interior and Underside Imperfections: Variations or imperfections in areas like drawers, storage compartments, and the back or bottom surfaces are not considered defects.
Furniture Functionality:
- Creaking Sounds: Natural wood furniture may produce creaking sounds over time, which is considered a normal occurrence.
Photography and Screen Displays:
- Color Representation: While we strive to capture accurate images, variations in screen displays, lighting conditions, and photography settings can result in perceived differences in color tones.
- Batch Photography: Photos may feature furniture from different manufacturing batches and can show variations in color tones.
Product-Specific Exceptions:
- Chairs: Due to their permanent assembly, chairs are not eligible for return.
- Sale Items: Items purchased on sale are final sale and not eligible for return.
- Parts Sold Separately: Individual parts are not eligible for return or refund.
Size and Fit:
All items are ineligible for return or replacement due to size or fit-related reasons. It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure the furniture’s dimensions suit their space (e.g., doors, stairways, or rooms) before purchasing. We recommend carefully reviewing the product specifications or contact us for more details prior to purchase.
Natural Wood Color & Texture Disclaimer
ORDER CANCELATION
We run a fast and streamlined fulfillment system. Once your order is placed, our team begins picking and packing immediately, and the package is moved to our 24/7 shipping dock for loading.
To cancel an order, we must confirm with our dispatch team that the package hasn’t been loaded yet. If cancellation is approved, restocking fees will apply as follows.
- Cancelation Fees:
- 10% cancelation fee for restocking costs.
- 2.9% bank transaction fee (5.9% for Affirm payments).
- On-hold orders are subject to an additional $3/item/day storage fee.
- Pre-Orders:
- Cancelations within 24 hours are subject to the above fees.
- After 24 hours, pre-orders cannot be canceled as they are shipped directly from our factory to the distribution center.
We cannot cancel an order once it has left our facility.
Please note: Tracking status may show as “Processing” or “Label Created” until the carrier scans the package at the hub. This does not reflect the actual progress of your shipment.
Unclaimed, Rejected, or Canceled Shipments and Failed Deliveries:
Shipments in transit that are unclaimed, rejected, or canceled by the buyer or failed deliveries returned to us by the carrier due to failed delivery attempts are subject to a 40% deduction from the refund amount.
